The spokesperson of the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo has revealed they did some permutations prior to the presidential election which showed them that their candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would win the presidential election by at least 2 million votes.
Recall that Tinubu won the election scoring a total of 8,794,726 votes ahead of his closest challenger, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP who scored 6,984,520 votes.
Speaking in an interview on Television Continental (TVC), Keyamo said
"A day to the election, people were calling me, even very staunch party members to say what do you think? And I said calm down. I had looked at it, I had worked it out and guess what? I didn't tell Nigerians this, two or three weeks to the time, a small team of us around Asiwaju, we sat down and we made different permutations and we gave ourselves the worst case scenario depending on results that we have had in this country before. And the worst case scenario gave us 2 million votes ahead of Atiku Abubakar, the closes rival.
That worst case scenario was exactly what happened. That’s the results that came out, about 1.8 or 1.9 million votes ahead of Atiku. And so we got our permutations spot on.
And that means that if you look at the results, APC with its strength and wide reach and all of that actually got the worst case scenario that it could have.”
