2023: After A Survey Of Governor Bello's Popularity Was Conducted, See What Nigerians Voted For

On Sunday, a survey was carried out on social media by a Twitter user on the popularity of the Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello in running for presidency in the next general election.

The survey was prompted by a tweet made by Former minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode on Governor Bello running for the 2023 presidency.

Fani-Kayode, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had condemned the idea by some Nigerians that Governor Bello shouldn't contest the next presidential election. He said Nigerians needs a leader that is strong and can bring generational change to the country.

"The idea that Gov. Yahaya Bello should not run for the Presidency & that the NC zone, which has never produced a democratically-elected President,ought to settle for another position is absurd. Nigeria needs strong & decisive leadership, a generational change & a bridge-builder." he tweeted.

This was however greeted with mixed reactions as many Nigerians went against the campaign for Yahaya Bello. They said he wasn't the right leader for the country at present.

One twitter user with the handle @Eutopialove urged Fani-Kayode to run a survey to help know the popularity of Governor Bello. However, she said she would help him to carry it out. On the survey she asked, Dear Nigerians! Do you want Yahaya or not?

Within two hours, 2,039 had voted and the result was as follows; 4% said 'yes' they want Bello as president, 25% said 'No', 70% voted 'never' while just 1% wants Bello to be president.

The survey shows many Nigerians on social media are not in support of the Govenor vying for the number one political position of the country.

See some reactions below;

With less than two years to the next presidential election as it has been scheduled for February 2023, calculations and permutations by politicians are already ongoing.

Governor Bello who is from Northern Nigeria may find it difficult to clinch the APC's ticket as the incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari is also from the region and will complete eight years in office by 2023.

What's your opinion on this? Do you Think Governor Yahaya Bello has a chance in 2023?
