Covid-19: Read What Northern governors agreed to do about Covid-19 Vaccine when it arrives Nigeria

The governors of Northern states in Nigeria have made plans on what do to make citizens accept the Covid-19 Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, disclose.

In the webinar organised by Sir. Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, the Plateau State Governor discussed about the safety and efficiency of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The vaccine which is yet to arrive the country has been surrounded with controversies and conspiracy theories. A lot of people are in doubt about its efficacy an safety.

In a quest to cast away all these rumors and conspiracy theories, the Governor who was represented by the Secretary to State Government, Professor Danladi Atu, said the northern states' governors have agreed to take the first doses of vaccine arriving the country.

Some of the assumptions about the vaccines is that it 'changes the DNA' of anyone who takes it. It is also rumored that it causes death which the United Nations and other world health experts have denied.

In the meeting, the Director of Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaibu, revealed that the government aims to vaccinate 70 percent of the country's population within the period of two years.

He added that the vaccinations will be two phases: in the first phase, 40 percent of the population will be vaccinated while the remaining 39 will be in the second phase.

Nigerians were also advised to continue adhering to the Covid-19 safety protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.
