Majority of APC members may not welcome Fani-Kayode, says Buhari’s aide.
An aide to the President, Major General Muhamamdu Buhari ( retd.), Bashir Ahmad, has said the majority of members of the ruling All Progressives Congress may not welcome former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode if he decides to join the party.
Fani Kayode had yesterday met with the National Chairman of the APC, Governor Mai Buni of Yobe State and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.
Pictures from the meeting had sparked the controversy that Fani Kayode, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, was on the verge of defecting to the APC.
In reaction, Ahmad said the former Minister may not be welcomed by the majority of APC members whom he attacked for several years.

Yoruba rights activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho has debunked a newspaper report which quoted him as saying that he could finish off Boko Haram fighters without government’s support.
Decrying the rate at which fake news are being circulated on various platforms in the country, he said the profession should be regulated in order to check the overbearing excesses.
According to him, the publication titled, ‘I can finish off Boko Haram without Government’s support’ is uncalled for, a total fabrication and a mere sensation which the author failed to substantiate before publishing.

Army appoints Yerima new spokesman.
The Nigerian Army has appointed Brig. Gen. Mohammed Yerima as its Director of Public Relations.
Yerima replaces Brig. Gen. Saghir Musa, who has been redeployed to the Nigerian Army Training Centre, Kontagora in Niger State.
Yerima, a one time Acting Director Defence of Information, was until his appointment, the deputy director reserve at the Defence Headquarters.
According to the profile released by the Army Headquarters, Yerima is a graduate of Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University.
He enrolled in the Nigerian Army in October 1989 and was commissioned into the Corps of Army Public Relations.
COVID-19: FG Places Fresh Travel Restrictions On 100 Passengers For Flouting Directives.
In a series of tweet on Tuesday, the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 released the passport details of the defaulters, announcing they have been restricted from travelling for six months.
“Presidential Task Force (PTF) sanctions 100 Passports in Second Batch of those who failed to comply with the mandatory Day 7 post arrival COVID-19 Test. PENALTY: 6 month travel restriction from Feb 5 to July 30, 2021, the tweet read.
“The Federal Government is placing travel restrictions on the following passports due to non compliance with the mandatory Day and post-arrival COVID-19 test,” it added while listing the defaulters.
COVID-19: Ondo rejects NCDC figure, says state not ‘severely affected’
The Ondo State Government on Tuesday faulted the figure for the COVID - 19 situation in the state released by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control.
The rejection is contained in a statement issued by the Acting Commissioner for Health, Dr Jibayo Adeyeye, in Akure.
“The NCDC report created an impression that the state was now the most severely affected state in the country. This is far from the truth.
“The true picture is that the figure recently declared for the state is cumulative of arrears for several days due to delay in getting results from the testing laboratories,
“The current situation report with regards to COVID -19 in the state includes 18, 443 as the total number of samples collected since inception, 2, 491 confirmed cases, 2,395 recovery cases .
