Anambra 2021: Meet The Uba's Aspiring For The Governorship Seat

1. Ugochukwu Uba

Dr. Ugochukwu Uba ( born may 1949) is a political scientist, an administrator, and politician. Ugochukwu is the eldest of the two brother's while Andy is the youngest. Prior to his political career, he served as lecturer in the university of Nigeria Nsukka 1984 to 1987. In 2003, he contested the Senate seat for Anambra South senatorial district election and was elected under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). In 2007, he was re-elected for a second term on the PDP platform.

2. Emmanuel Nnamdi Uba

Popularly known as Andy Uba (born 14 December 1958), is a Nigerian politician who was elected senator for the Anambra South senatorial district of Anambra State, Nigeria, in April 2011. He ran on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform. Following the 1999 elections, he was appointed Special Assistant on Special Duties and Domestic Affairs to President Olusegun Obasanjo. In 2007, Uba contested in the PDP primaries for the Anambra state governorship election, and was elected in the 14th April 2007 elections. In 2011, Andy was nominated as the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Anambra South senatorial district election and won. In 2019, Andy contested for a re-election under the platform of the All Progressive Congress but lost the election to the YPP candidate, Ifeanyi Ubah.
