Mr. Darlington Ibekwe, a political associate to the former governor of Imo State, and Senator representing Orlu Zone, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has urged Senator Hope Uzodinma, to apologize to his predecessor, for ordering an attack on him and seizure of his property.
Ibekwe dismissed rumour of Okorocha planning to leave the APC, stating that Okorocha was a founding member of the party, and remains a member of the party.
Ibekwe stated that Okorocha acquired all the property he owns legally, denying accusations leveled against the former governor, of looting the state, and acquiring property illegally, when he was in office.
Ibekwe stated that the rift between Uzodinma and Okorocha, started in 2018, when Okorocha refused to back Uzodinma for the APC ticket, accusing Uzodinma of chasing a vendetta against Okorocha.
He enjoined Uzodinma to face the critical issues of governance facing him, which included the payment of salaries and pensions, rather than trying to distract Imo people with his vendetta against Okorocha.
Ibekwe was arrested recently and arraigned in a magistrate court, at the orders of Senator Hope Uzodinma, for trespassing into the hotel owned by Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, wife to Senator Rochas Okorocha.
The hotel was confiscated by the state government, at the orders of Senator Hope Uzodinma. Senator Rochas Okorocha had attempted to retake the hotel, and it has ended in violence, and Okorocha and his associates, including Ibekwe, arrested by the police at the orders of Senator Hope Uzodinma.
Ibekwe had been on the government’s radar for quite a while, after he made a video (attached below), where he labelled Senator Hope Uzodinma, an Otokoto man.
