During an interview with Arise TV this morning, President Muhammadu Buhari told Nigerian youths to behave themselves if they want jobs in the country, he told them to ensure that the country is secure and safe so that investors can come into the country.
Ever since the president made this statement, several people have misinterpreted his statement and attacked him unfairly. This is quite unfair and I think the youths should sit back and ponder over what the president said.
Is there any organization or company that will want to invest in an unsecured country? The answer is NO.
When Buhari said that Nigerian youths should behave themselves, he was basically saying that the youths should stop causing crisis in the country like those agitating for secessions and unnecessary protests that ends in violence, he was telling the youths to stop engaging in crime and other acts capable of increasing the rate of insecurity in the country.
Before the youths start blaming the federal government for the lack of jobs in the country, they should first of all do their best to ensure that the country is safe. They should forbid crime and be law-abiding so that the environment can be enabling for companies and individuals to and invest.
For me, what the President told Nigerian youths today is nothing far from the truth.
If they want jobs, they should calm down and take his advice of ensuring that the country is secure.
