The Presidential Villa has restricted media coverage around the villa to only 13 media houses amidst the outbreak of the corona virus and it's spread to the seat of power.
The restrictions will be till further notice as the virus still locks around the whole nation.
This decision is as a result is the social gathering restrictions and the order of not more than 50 persons in every gathering.
The media houses allowed to have access to the Villa henceforth are Deutsche Welle, NTA, Channels TV, TVC, FRCN, VON, NAN, The Sun, ThisDay, Leadership, Daily Trust, The Guardian and Vanguard.
A statement by the Director of Information, State House, Mr Attah Esa, said the Presidency has cut down the number of staff in other departments also, stating that “over 100” media houses personnels gathering for work daily was not in line with the social distancing rule and overcrowding.
The restrictions take effect from today. As time goes on there might be a total shut down of the Presidential Villa and it will only be opened where there are special cases.
This order came after the Chief of Staff and other members tested positive to this COVID-19 virus.
