Everyone knows about the attacks on Imo State and some of its prisons.
Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo while on a visit to Imo state for a road project, visited the stations that were attacked at the early hours of yesterday. He denounced the attacks on the stations as an assault to people's lives.
“There are many who are working tirelessly to improve our system, to build it up and to enhance it. We must, therefore, reject the agents of anarchy that are seeking to weaponize the frustration and discontent of our young people for their own profit." He said.
He made it clear that the routes of violence and anarchy only steer towards disaster which can devour people's lives and properties. Communities can also be wiped out because of such act. He urged Nigerians to learn the value of Peace through any vile of war.
“The path of violence can only lead to a disaster that consumes everyone and leads to the desolation of our communities. It is easy to take peace for granted, but we need not learn the value of peace through the horrible crucible of war.”
He spoke directly to those who caused the mayhem assuming they are there with him. He said that stacking these stations will leave lives of the innocents at stake because they just opened the gates for the devil to roam about and devour. He said that what they did was not merely an invasion on law and order, it was also an irrational attack on the people and our way of life.
He also said that there is need to strengthen the security of the state.
