Gov Uzodinma Returns To Imo State After A Week In Abuja

The embattled Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has finally returned to his state following a week stay in Abuja. It can be recalled that the APC Governor was in Abuja while his country home in Omuma community, in Ọrụ East Local Government Area of Imo State was set Ablaze. Hell was let loose when a joint team of DSS, Police and Army killed the state Commander of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), who is known as Ikonso Don. Since then, the state has remained tensed as security agencies have been battling to contain the series of attacks by Unknown Gunmen in the state.

The Governor who has been in Abuja for the past one week now due to the high level of insecurity in his state, coupled with threats from the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) following the death of the state commander of ESN in the state, was reported by to have arrived the state today at about 1:45pm in the company of some of his aides and appointees. The Governor whose approach to combating insecurity in his state has been carrying out official duties from Abuja for the last one week. This however, may have been influenced by the level of attacks in the state by unknown gunmen.

According to the reports by, Governor Hope Uzodinma upon his return to Imo State, is set to introduce what he called "Operation Stop The Hoodlums", in a bid to restore peace and security in his state. However, with the level of threats issued by the IPOB following the death of Ikonso Don, and the Governor's unwillingness to embrace dialogue, it is only a matter of time before we get to know if the yet to be introduced "Operation Stop The Hoodlums" will be able to restore peace and security to the state once again.
