Following recent comments made by Nigerian Pastor, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, regarding the 2023 presidency and the election system in Nigeria, former Director of New Media committee of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Femi Fani-Kayode has spoken out on his verified Facebook page.
In response to the Cardinal's outspokenness on Channels Television, Fani-Kayode urged the Nigerian people to respect the democratic process and accept the outcome of the election. He also highlighted the absurdity of suggesting that a politician like Peter Obi is better equipped to lead the country than another politician like Ahmed Tinubu based purely on religion.
Furthermore, Fani-Kayode spoke out against those who oppose the President-elect, insisting that everyone has a duty to support the democratic process and the will of the people. He criticized individuals who hide behind their religious beliefs to oppose the President-elect, calling it 'madness'.
In his opinion, Fani-Kayode stated that it is the responsibility of the people to support and respect those who have been legitimately elected to lead their country. By rejecting their chosen leaders, he argued, individuals risk undermining the very foundations of democracy and the peaceful transition of power.
