Outcome from Imo State Executive Committee meeting held at the Sam Mbakwe Exco Chamber, Owerri
We had the State Executive Committee (EXCO) Meeting at the Sam Mbakwe Exco Chamber, Imo State Government House, Owerri.
The Commissioner for information and strategy, who's also spokesperson 0f the council, Hon. Declan Emelumba addressed the press.
We deliberated amonsgt others, as follows:
1. Council approved the revised supplementary budged proposed to the Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA). Highlight of the budged is it's reduction from N140 billion to N59 billion. It is a proposal and will so go to the IMHA for approval.
2. We have also realised that there is need for us to leverage on our various sources of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to carryout our laudable projects in the State, in the face of our current reality occasioned by dwindling oil prices and reduced Federal allocation.
3. We discussed the land reform and warned the general public to steer clear of any landed property until the relevant recertification exercises are carried out. We reiterated that all land owners must participate in the recertification excercise.
4. Furthermore, we set up a criteria for the resumption of schools, especially for those in critical examination classes in line with the Covid-19 protocols.
