It is no longer news that Anambra State Government has approved Saturdays as school days.
The adoption of Saturdays as school days was done to replace Mondays which have been declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a sit-at-home day throughout the South East region.
The sit-at-home order was declared by IPOB Emma Powerful on the 30th of July, 2021. The sit-at-home was declared to protest the arrest of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu who is presently at the DSS custody.
Why Anambra Government should fight IPOB rather than adopting Saturdays school days :
Anambra State Government in partnership with the federal government should ensure that they fight IPOB rather than adopting Saturdays as school days.
Adopting Saturdays as school days in place of Mondays might prove to the people that IPOB militants truly hold power in the South East and the government is unable to fight them.
Mondays are generally known as days when business moves rapidly and for no reason should it be substituted for another day.
The Government should ensure that the regional security outfit, Ebubeagu Security network, and the various federal securities outfits find a lasting solution to the problems in the southeast by fighting the find militants so that people can go on their normal duties on Mondays.
