Senator Smart Adeyemi, federal lawmaker, Kogi state, said that Nigerians were told that they have redesigned the naira, asking that where are the new notes that have been redesigned.
Senator Smart Adeyemi asked the rhetorical question in an interview with Channels Television during the Politics Today program when he was responding to Seun Okinbaloye's question of why he said yesterday that Tinubu should go back to the obstacles they faced during the campaign, since he has won the election.
Smart Adeyemi responded that if he is Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the first thing he will do is to call the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele and ask him questions about the naira redesign. He said some of them keep history and records because that naira redesign led to the death of some Nigerians. He added that some market women even lose their goods, banks were attacked, property was destroyed, because they can't access money.
He pointed out that if nothing is done, it will repeat itself and that is why something must be done.
He said that the calculated attempt then was for APC not to win. "We were told they have redesigned the naira but where are the new notes that have been redesigned?" He then said that they have to ask questions.
