The Labour Party's governorship candidate, Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour reacted to the Train and BRT Collision in Ikeja a few hours after the incident occurred and stated that he was deeply saddened by the accident.
He tweeted, "I am deeply saddened by the news of the train/BRT collision in Ikeja. My prayers to everyone involved in the accident. We must all do the best we can to help emergency services get help for all affected. Early reports confirm that a lot of injuries have been sustained by the accident. If you are a blood donor in the Ikeja area, please be on standby as requests may come out soon. Thank you."
Reacting to his tweet, a Twitter user tweeted, "Something drastic needs to be done concerning these repetitive but avoidable calamities! Even if roads have to pass through train tracks, can't we have barriers to stop cars crossing when a train is approaching?"
