Okowa Cautions Journalists
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has urged journalists across the country not to promote ethnicity in view of subtle campaigns ahead of the 2023 general electons.
He rather urged journalists to intensify efforts through their reportage in uniting an obvious divided nation along ethnic lines.
Governor Okowa gave the advice while declaring open the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigeria Union of Journalists held in Asaba, the state capital.
Another Politician Escapes Death In Taraba
The Chairman, Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State, Shiban Tikari, narrowly escaped death early Saturday morning as armed militia opened fire on his vehicle.
According to Daily Post, the attack took place in Dogo-Gawa village of the council, which led to the killing of his police orderly.
The deceased policeman is of the 67 Mobile Police Squadron, located in the council.
The All Progressives Congress (APC), said Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has proven without any iota of doubt that he is very vindictive and uncaring in his service as the number one citizen.
APC through its party Spokesman, Chief Ogbonna Nwuke said that it was shocked that the governor is still quarrelling over votes cast in the last general election.

Suspected Fulani Herdsmen Kill 11 Persons In Benue
Suspected Fulani herdsmen militias have invaded Mbakyondu, in Gwer-West Local Government Area of Benue State, killing no fewer that 11 persons, while others were left injured.
DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred at about 4:am on Friday night when the residents were fast asleep.
A media aide to the LG Chairman, Mr. Udam Samuel said recovered bodies of the deceased have been deposited in a morgue at Naka, the LG headquarters.
According to him, security agencies have been deployed to the affected area to ensure that normalcy returns to the place.
