The Governor of Cross River state, Professor Ben Ayade has alleged that at this stage in the country, Nigeria does not need a President that knows everything but a man that can pick the right team. Professor Ben speaking in an interview with Channels Tv stated that Bola Tinubu is a man who knows how to hand-pick the right people to run the state affairs.
He asserted that given the experience of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Lagos state governor and public office holder, he's capable of becoming a good Nigerian President. He stated further that Tinubu does not lean on his own understanding, he added that the President-elect is open to ideas and opinions from his team.
He said, ''At Tinubu's level, what is required is not raw energy. He's a man that puts his eye on and hands off. A man who knows how to put the right head and pull them together and allow the opportunity to run. He has produced a lot of product who are outstanding, who have served this country credibly well. And so given his antecedent, I'm tempted to support the feeling that I have got. That given the man who has run Lagos, he's a man who has been in the street and he understands the street language.
He has been in high places in government, he's stable enough and you need to see his simplicity. There are no official aides to Tinubu, he will be available to you at all time. That is somebody who is ready to learn, he has never assumed that he knows all. And that is why I believe that he will be a very good President. Nigeria doesn't need a man that knows all but a man like Tinubu that can pick the best team.''
