The First Lady of Osun State, Her Excellency Mrs Kafayat Oyetola has been elected as the new Chairperson of Southern Governors' Wives Forum(SGWF), and she replaces Mrs Betsy Obaseki, whose tenure ended some days ago. This was according to the information on the Instagram page of the wife of the Imo State Governor, Barr.(Mrs) Chioma Uzodinma, who recently joined other Governors' wives in a meeting, under the auspices of Southern Governors' Wives Forum (SGFW) at the Edo State Governors' Lodge, Abuja.
As the new Executive of the Association, she would be saddled with the responsibility of piloting the affairs of the body for Another tenure. Prior to this, was the forum of Nigerian Governors'Wives Against Gender-based Violence (NGWA-GBV) summit, which took place on the 7th of June 2021 at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF), Abuja.
And during the meeting, the Governors' wives highlighted the need for the continued support and partnership of the Nigerian Governors' Forum (NGF) to seek lasting solution towards addressing the issue of rape, and gender-based violence, drug abuse and other societal vices in the country and improving the welfare of the women, children and the youth across the country.
