President Muhammadu Buhari has wished his sick Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, a speedy recovery from Covid-19 infection in a tweet on his verified Twitter handle @Mbuhari on Sunday, and also eulogising him for the great work he has done for his administration.
The President, while wishing the Foreign Affairs Minister a speedy recovery, was also full of admiration for the sick Minister, calling him a tireless worker and a strong pillar of his adminstration.
The reason for this special eulogy for the minister is not far fetched, as the president also added that the Minister was at the forefront of the fight and struggles to defeat the widespread coronavirus pandemics, noting that Nigeria would eternally be grateful for the Minister's diligence in attracting international support to defeat the pandemics and also boost the economy.
This is an indication that although the Minister may be temporarily down now with the virus, his toils and struggles to make sure Nigeria comes out of the effect of the pandemics without much negative economic impact, using his vast experience and diplomatic knowhow, is highly recognized by the president.
In the word of the president, he stated thus: "I wish @GeoffreyOnyeama speedy recovery from Covid-19. Nigeria is eternally grateful for his diligence in attracting international support to defeat the pandemic and boost the economy. He has been a tireless worker and strong pillar of our administration."
