While speaking at the Government House in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State on Tuesday, after a private meeting with Governor Emmanuel and other high esteemed stakeholders of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Atiku Abubakar said: "some of the things that have endeared him to Governor Emmanuel is because of his industrialisation drive, which includes infrastructural provision and the development of other important sectors of the State's economy, especially the laudable achievements recorded in the social sector like Healthcare and Education. All this remarkable impacts witnessed in critical sectors of the state by Governor Emmanuel made Atiku to praise him.

Governor Emmanuel, in reaction to Atiku's acknowledgement, described the former Vice President as someone who is not a tribalistic Nigerian, stating that his (Atiku) generosity and elevation had been felt by a lot of Nigerians across the six geopolitical zones in the country.
