Unknown Gunmen Do Not Want Anambra Election To Hold -INEC.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, has expressed fear that those attacking and burning public facilities in the South-East do not want the November 6 Anambra governorship election to take place.

Mr Yakubu’s expressed fear is coming as unknown gunmen continue to attack INEC facilities and materials. 

In May, Mr Yakubu said since the 2019 general elections, 14 INEC offices have been attacked 41 times.

Abaribe Speaks About APC.

The Senate Minority Leader, Eyinnaya Abaribe, has insisted that the All Progressives Congress, APC, would not allow the Southeast to produce its 2023 presidential candidate.

Abaribe said only his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, can produce an Igbo President in 2023.

In an interview on Channels Television, the PDP chieftain said the APC was not set up to manage Nigeria properly.

FG To Move Teachers Retirement Age To 65- Osinbajo.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says efforts are underway to increase the retirement age of teachers in Nigeria’s public service from 60 to 65 years.

Mr Osinbajo was hosting the Maltina Teacher of the Year, 2020 Winner, Oluwabunmi Anani, as part of the 2021 World Teachers Day celebration at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The vice president said that there were also moves to employ teachers into the public service starting from level 8 as against level 7.
