It can be recalled that In an earlier statement released by Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, he noted that he would be heading to the Court today as a result of the INEC's refusal to allow Labour party to inspect the materials (including BVAS) from the 25th February presidential elections.
However, during the proceeding, Justice Ikyegh led panel faulted Peter Obi's request to be allowed to scan and make photocopies of the electoral materials in the possession of INEC, as was reported by Vanguard Newspaper. The justices noted that Obi the request was earlier granted. The panel held that repeating the prayer amounted to an abuse of Court process.
Therefore, they faulted Obi and the Labour party for repeating their request to be allowed to scan and make copies of the electoral materials in INEC's possession.
The Court also granted INEC the permission to reconfigure the BVAS machine ahead of the Governorship election and state Assemble election taking place this weekend.
