Hidden Secret About Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was born to a royal family on the 15th June 1954,she hails from ogwashi ukwu delta state. Her parents,chukwuka and kamene okonjo were professors of the university of ibadan. She had her secondary education at international school of ibadan. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala proceeded to Harvard University where she graduated with AB honors in economics I'm 1977. She hold a PhD in regional economics and development from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is married to Dr Ikemba Iweala,a retired neurosurgeon and emergency physician. They are blessed with four children. One of her son Uzodinma Iweala is an American author and a medical doctor.

Career

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala started as an intern in the world bank group. After graduation she return to the world bank group and worked for many years as a development economics. She held a post of cooperate secretary. She was appointed as Nigeria Finance Minister under president Olusegun Obasanjo. Afterwards she was appointed as a managing director of world bank group. Later on she was reappointed as finance Minister during president Good luck Jonathan administration with expanded portfolio of the coordinating Minister of the economy. In 2015,she joined lazard,a financial advisory and assets management firm were she serve as a senior advisor in the organization.

1 She's the first female Minister

2 First female foreign affairs Minister in Nigeria.

3 First female black candidate to contest for the presidency of world bank group in 2012.

4 Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is an entrepreneur,she founded Nigeria First Indigenous Opinion Research Organization in 2008.

5 She empowered Nigeria Youths through Youth Enterprises with innovation program.

6 Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is an author. She has written so many books like " Fighting corruption is Dangerous".

7 She has won so many awards both locally and internationally.

8 In June 2020, president Muhammadu Bihari nominated her as a candidate to be the director general of World Trade Organization (WTO).
