The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Lagos state, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has spoken on the state of his health. The political expert made this revelation during the visit of some members of the Federal House of Assembly from the Northern region of the country. According to Tinubu, he recently underwent a surgery on his knee and the physiotherapy was really gruesome.
It could be recalled that Ahmed Tinubu who has been in the United Kingdom for the past 3 months was spotted with a walking stick during the visit of president Muhammadu Buhari. The picture of Bola Tinubu holding a walking stick sparked a lot of reactions from many political observers who contemplated exhaustively on the health conditions of the APC bigwig. Granted, Bola Ahmed Tinubu's revelation about his health might have certainly confirmed the wild speculations about his health.
From the foregoing, it is very clear that Tinubu's possible political opponents could have gotten themselves necessary information that could undermine Tinubu's chances of recording success in the battle for the presidential seat. The issue of unstable health has been a sound argument in many political debates and many opponents have used it against their rivals.
Especially, at a time like this when the Nigerian government is witnessing intense challenges from insecurity, the country would be in dire need of a vibrant leader who could be very much around to attend to the pressing political and security challenges in Nigeria. Obviously, Tinubu's revelation about his health could undermine the chances of Nigerians entrusting him with such a sensitive and demanding job.
Meanwhile, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has continued to distance himself from any issues pertaining to the 2023 presidency, and it could be more convenient for him if he could continue in that path.
