Ohanaeze warns that another northern president in 2023 may intensify secessionist agitations

The Igbo apex socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze, has on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, warned the northern govornors against insisting on producing the President of Nigeria in 2023.

Secretary General of the organization, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, gave the warning that another president of northern extraction would intensify the agitation for Biafra Republic as well as Oduduwa Republic. He accused the northern governors of being the proponents of disintegration, stressing that another president from the North would encounter challenges that would make governance difficult for him.

According to the statement," The Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide maintained that attempts to jettison the rotational presidency in 2023, and the North insisting to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari will be unfavourable and weaknesses towards sustaining the unity and stability in the country as it will favour the declarations of Oduduwa and Biafra nations by 2024.

"Northern Governors' miscalculation on 2023 and meandering on blind excitements of opposing the position of southern Governors' standpoints had put the Northern Governors as exponents of Nigeria's breakup. If another Northerner succeeds President Buhari in 2023 , he or she might not be able to be the superintendent over the affairs of the country as Nigeria might face brutal challenges from secessionist groups with full backing up from ethnic groups as a result of a revolt against the injustice against South and excesses of the North".

Ohanaeze therefore declared that the organization might join the Indeginous People of Biafra, IPOB, to make declaration for the restoration of Biafra, in the event of any conspiracy against Igbo Presidency in 2023.
