Two APC Leaders That May Defect To Another Party With Aregbesola If He Decides To Dump APC

It is no more news that the former Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola and the incumbent Governor of the State, Gboyega Oyetola are fighting each other over the Leadership of the Party in the State. It should be recalled that Aregbesola started fighting Governor Oyetola, immediately after the 2018 Governorship Polls. Governor Oyetola challenged Aregbesola for not supporting him wholeheartedly during 2018 Governorship Election that brought him into Power.

It was the intervention of Some Opposition Leaders that helped Governor Oyetola to win 2018 Governorship election. The former Deputy Governor of the State, Otunba Iyiola Omisore was one of the opposition Leader that helped Governor Oyetola during the 2018 rerun Governorship election in the State. It was reliably gathered that Aregbesola was unable to deliver his Local Government and his Federal constituency for APC.

The crisis between Governor Oyetola and Aregbesola led to creation of the two factions in Osun APC. Oyetola's Faction is called Ilerioluwa while Aregbesola's faction is called TOP Group. However, Aregbesola has many Loyalists in his faction but not all all of them are ready to defect along with him to another Party, if he decides to do so. Some of his Loyalists will not compromise to leave Progressives Party for anyother Party and there are some of them that are ready to leave APC, if Aregbesola is ready to leave the Party.

Among the Leaders who may likely dump APC for another Party, if Aregbesola decides to leave the Party is the Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Barrister Ajibola Bashir Popularly called SRJ. SRJ was the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice when Aregbesola was the Governor of the State. Ajibola Bashir cannot trade Aregbesola for anything in the State.

Recently, it was gathered that Ajibola Bashir dumped Aregbesola's faction for Oyetola's faction but the fact is Ajibola Bashir is still very cordial to Aregbesola and he may likely defect along with Aregbesola to another Party. It should be recalled that APC recently conducted Ward Congress across the State and Aregbesola's Loyalists were not among the executives of the Party. Aregbesola filed Petition to the National executives of the Party but his Petition was struck out. With the look of things, Aregbesola may leave the Party, if the Party Leaders could not settle the crisis on time and Ajibola Bashir may defects along with him.

Another APC Leader that may also defects along to another Party with Aregbesola is the former Commissioner for Chieftaincy affairs, Kolapo Alimi. Barrister Kolapo Alimi was the Commissioner when Aregbesola was the Governor of the State. Kolapo Alimi was one of the Pioneer Leader of the TOP Group. He has cordial relationship with Aregbesola and he may likely defect to another party along with Aregbesola, if Aregbesola decides to do so. Both Kolapo Alimi and Ajibola Bashir may dump APC, If Aregbesola decides to leave the Party.
