The former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega, Professor Pat Utomi, Donald Duke, Ahmed Abdulfatah and other politicians have unveiled the Rescue Nigeria Project (RNP) today 21st September, 2021 in Abuja.
The National coordinator of the group, Usman Bugaje in his opening remark stated that the problems the country is facing is caused by those in leadership position.
He added that the recruitment mechanism of Political leaders are flawed such that the producing of competent leaders with knowledge, discipline and commitment is not possible as a result Nigerians are living with the consequences.
Former Governor of Kwara State, Ahmed Abdulfatah while giving his address stated that the diversity in the Country was not properly manage and it is the reason for the agitation for self reliance by different ethnic groups in the country.
By critically analyzing the speeches made during the ceremony, 2 things are noted as the reasons for the launch of this new Political group, they are;
1) Rescue Nigeria Project is a formidable force formed against APC and PDP which are the two contending Political Parties in Nigeria
2) They want to ensure that only qualified persons are elected or appointed into leadership positions in the Country
