Magu Speaks More On Alleged N4 Billion To Osinbajo And Other Allegations

Ibrahim Magu, who is the suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has opened up on the proclamations that he gave N4 billion to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Magu described the assertion as being false and a planned effort to tarnish Osinbajo’s hard-earned reputation and spoil his good image.

Mr. Magu, the suspended EFCC boss, who was freed from detention on Wednesday, also denied giving the sum of N28 million to Femi Falana SAN, who is a human rights lawyer.

In a petition signed by his lawyer, Wahab Kunle Shittu, Mr. Ibrahim Magu's addressed to the Chairman of the Presidential Investigations Panel, Justice Isa Ayo Salami.

“Our client strongly refutes this falsehood and fake allegations against the respected Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Our client has never given the sum of N4 billion or any monetary value at all to Prof. Yemi Osinbajo SAN, GCON, Vice President of Federal Republic of Nigeria as wrongly reported.”

“This allegation is complete falsehood formulated to tarnish the hard-earned reputation of the Vice President. They are meant to spoil the vice president's good image.

“This allegation is a complete fabrication and fiction. Our client never gave N28 million or any amount of money to Mr. Femi Falana SAN as cruelly reported. Our client, Mr. Magu, as well never had any link with a Kaduna-based Bureau De Change Operator as alleged.”

So it should be noted that Mr. Magu has never given the sum of N4 billion or any amount of money to Prof. Yemi Osinbajo SAN, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Also, Mr. Magu has never given N28 million or any amount of money to Mr. Femi Falana SAN as cruelly reported. Lastly, Mr. Magu never had any link with a Kaduna-based Bureau De Change
