Buhari Celebrates with Rochas Okorocha

President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated with former Imo State Governor, and Senator Representing Imo West, Rochas Okorocha, on his 59th birthday.

Buhari said he joins friends and family to celebrate the consummate entrepreneur and philanthropist, whose kindness cuts across Nigeria.

In a statement signed by Garba Shehu and made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday, Buhari fully noted Okorocha’s penchant for always fighting for the wellbeing of the less privileged, adding that he has followed the former Imo governor with keen interest.

Niger lawmakers pass N60.7bn for 2021

Legislators of the Niger state House of Assembly have passed the 2021 Appropriation Bill for the twenty-five Local Government councils to the sum of N60,725,185,827.

They passed the Bill during plenary after presentation of report by the Chairman House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. .Shuaibu Liman Iya

According to the breakdown of the budget, recurrent expenditure is expected to gulp the sum of N47, 161,744,412, with capital expenditure at N13,563,441,415.

Iya while giving his report told the House that out of the over N60 billion for the fiscal year, about N42 billion is for statutory allocation.

Masari winning war against bandits – Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, has applauded the efforts of Governor Aminu Bello Masari in combating banditry and insecurity in Katsina State.

Lai Mohammed, who was in Katsina on a one-day working visit on Tuesday, said he was in the state with his team to learn how the governor is winning the war against banditry and other crimes in the state.

FG inaugurates Northwest Science, Mathematics centre in Kano

The federal government on Tuesday flagged off the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program for the northwestern geopolitical zone in Kano State.

The event was held at Government Secondary School (GSS) Rano local government council of Kano State while an e-Library was also commissioned at the Federal Government College (FGC), Kano.

Items provided at the STEM centre in Rano included: 25 All-in-One Desktop PC 24inch Screen Intel 2.8 GHz quad-core, 25 Desktop tables and Chairs, one Projector of 5000 lumens, one magnetic whiteboard for learning, one WiFi Routers multi-SIM and 18 Elegoo Robotics set.

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, said the STEM project was conceived to provide a technological platform that would aid modern teaching and learning of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics for students in some carefully selected Federal and State-owned science and technical secondary schools nationwide.
