17 Years After Leaving the House of Reps as a Speaker, Checkout the Recent photos of Ghali U Na'Abba

Ghali Umar Na'Abba CFR was born on September 27, 1958, in Tudun Wada, Kano city, Kano Municipal Local government area of Kano State. He was born into the family of Alhaji Umar Na'Abba, a successful businessman in Kano city. Ghali started his early education at Jakara Primary School in Kano State, where he received his first school-leaving certificate in 1969. Ghali later attended Rumfa College, also in Kano State for his secondary education. Ghali further attended the school of preliminary studies, Kano State between 1974-1976, before gaining admission into the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in October 1976, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Political science.

Ghali Umar Na'Abba later embarked on a postgraduate programme on leadership & good governance at the prestigious Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University in the United States in 2004. Speaker Ghali also attended, chaired & presented papers at several international seminars, conference on position, parliament, development and good governance, after his compulsory one-year National service in 1980. Ghali joined his father's chain of companies & was accordingly groomed into an accomplished entrepreneur. His business interest ranged from importation of goods, manufacturing to publishing.

Ghali Umar Na'Abba joined the PDP in 1998, during its formative period, and later emerged as the party's candidate in the April 1999 National Assembly election, in Kano municipal Federal Constituency of Kano State, which he won. Ghali was sworn-in on July 22, 1999, as the speaker of the House of Representatives during the first tenure of President Olusegun Obasanjo. In April 2003, Ghali sought re-election into the House of Representatives on the platform of PDP, but he lost the re-election bid. Ghali's hobbies during his spare time includes; reading, traveling and watching football.

In May this year, rumour has been circulating that Ghali Umar Na'Abba was dead, but he surfaced on the media to debunk such claims. He said he was stranded in England because of the Corona Virus Pandemic.
