Delta State is a very beautiful state in South South geopolitical zone of the country, a state created in August, 1991 by General Ibrahim Babangida's led Military Government alongside Edo State from defunct Bendel State and other seven States of Yobe, Jigawa,Osun, Anambra, Abia and others.
The State is administratively divided into twenty-five Local Government Councils of Ughelli North, Ughelli South,Oshimili North, Oshimili South,Ndokwa West, Ndokwa East,Ika North East,Ika South,Isoko North,Isoko South,Aniocha South,Aniocha North,Burudi,Bomadi,Ethiope West, Ethiope East,Sapele,Ukwaani,Uvwie,Warri, Warri North,Warri South,Patani and others.
Delta State has been ruled by both military officers and civilians, but since 1999 civilian leaders has been ruling uninterrupted, from Chief James Ibori to Emmanuel Uduagha and the incumbent Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
Delta has witnessed progressive and retrogressive development from successive governments in the past both in military regime and civilian administration, though, the current Government under Senator Okowa is doing well.
Delta State can now boast of good road network with street lights, overhead bridges, international airport, stadium, recreational facilities, seaport, shopping malls and lots more.
