Atiku Abubakar Is An Ambitious Man, He Might Decamp From PDP To APC During 2023 Election [Opinion]

Politicians are known to be very much desperate, especially during the times of election, but the question here is that, can we call this selfishness or dedication to a course? The answer is not something direct, as it demands 'in-depth thought' prior making conclusions. However, it is very much rare for any Nigerian to say that he or she does not know Atiku Abubakar, as he is someone who once served as the vice president of Nigeria, and he also contested for Nigerian president in the year 2019, in which the election preached his political gospel more than before. Even though he eventually lost the election, and for the fact that he lost his election in the year 2019, it is something that is very obvious that Atiku Abubakar is an Ambitious Man by checking his Political stand, in which he might resurface again in the year 2023 by decamping to a new party which is APC, as he is presently a member of PDP. Then with the situation of things, one can say that, 'Atiku Abubakar Is An Ambitious Man, He Might Decamp From PDP To APC During 2023 Election'. This is something that is very common with politicians as the constitution gave the freedom to everyone to decamp to any party of his or her choice. This has made politicians to always be on the look out to the most favourable party for them, and in this case Atiku Abubakar might not be an exemption.

Meanwhile, permit me to take you down memorially to the year 1999 which happens to be the time in which Nigeria adopted full time democracy, as Olusegun Obasanjo was elected as the. president of Nigeria. He was elected alongside Atiku Abubakar, as his vice, due to the fact that Nigerian presidency gave room for joint ticket, hence this gave Atiku Abubakar the opportunity to serve with Olusegun Obasanjo who was a former military leader prior the time of democracy. Then in the year 2003, another election was conducted in Nigeria, due to the fact that a single tenure in Nigeria gets elapsed after 4 years of office resumption and this made the tenure of Olusegun Obasanjo and Atiku Abubakar to come to an end in the year 2003, then they re-contested together again with joint ticket, and by virtue of their already established capacity, they won the election which gave them the room to serve Nigerians for another 4 years which makes it 8 years in total in the year 2007.

The Nigerian constitution never gave the room to serve for more than 8 years in the office of the presidency, unless in the case of appointments, but delegations that are based on elections are being defined, as their service duration is already spelt out in the book of law which is the constitution. While Atiku Abubakar served in office as the Nigerian vice president, he established a lot of political stakes for himself, which preached his gospel across many regions in Nigeria, and it was later useful to him during 2023 election, as he invested less on publicity, because his personality has already been established right from time. Atiku Abubakar has been a member of PDP from onset, and he happens to be one of the most respected stakes in the party as at today. He had not left the party for once, but with the look on things there are possibilities that he might want to decamp this time around because PDP is now less capacitated from what they used to be right from time. PDP ruled the country for almost 16 years, if not till the year 2015 that APC took power from them, just that the party is loosing out it's relevancy gradually, which is part of the reason why Atiku Abubakar might use to decamp to APC in other to nurture his ambition and also achieve his stakes.

With due regards to the upcoming election in the year 2023, it is something that is very much inarguable, as it is equally quite obvious that the election will be a very tough one with the way most of the Nigerian politicians are showing interest for it, while some have decalared their interest for presidency, some are keeping it to themselves, and some on the other hands are making moves which boils down to presidency in the upcoming election. But all in all, Atiku Abubakar has every necessary resources that is required of him to decamp to APC during 2023 election and also contest in the general election, as his political resources and stakes are something that is very much obvious to all, which are enough to grant him his political wishes. Atiku Abubakar is known for his political diplomacy, hence he might be considered among those that would be slated for APC's primary election for Presidency if at all he chooses to decamp, and in this type of situations, he knows how to buy his ways to become victorious as he played a similar card in the year 2019 while PDP was on the process of conducting their primary election, as it was Atiku Abubakar that won the primary election of PDP in that very year, which eventually made him the flag bearer of the party, just that he later lost to APC's candidate in the year 2019 in the process of the general election.

The APC's candidate as at then was Muhammadu Buhari, who was on the bid for his second return as the Nigerian president after which he initially assumed office in the year 2015, just after he unseated Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who is equally a PDP member and the President of Nigeria as at then. He was elected into office and served from the year 2011 to the year 2015. Then all what is expected of Atiku Abubakar now is just to pledge his loyalty to relevant cabals in APC, so that his political movement in APC can become smooth. If Atiku Abubakar can be submissive to the political will of the likes of 'Bola Tinubu' who happens to be the national leader of APC, as his political stands is very much respected in the party and his stakes and decisions can not be easily jettisoned. Then the ambition of Atiku Abubakar might be duly considered if he can pledge his loyalty to the 'Men' in APC if he decides to decamp. However, with his political stand, Atiku Abubakar can choose to enjoy the merriments of Political loyalty, it all depends on how he plays his political card of relevancy to the members of APC. You will agree with me that, 'Relevancy' is the best bribe that one can give to a man. Hence with that, Atiku Abubakar might choose to decamp to APC from PDP after which he consider his calculations, then with his political resources it is quite obvious that he would be well received by APC because his movement would be of mutual agreement and negotiations which is something that has been happening right from time in politics.
