Former senator, Shehu Sani has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to allow other political parties in Nigeria to send one nominee each to INEC for appointment as commissioners following his nomination of Lauretta Onochie.
Recall that President Buhari had sent Lauretta Onochie and other 5 people to the National Assembly for screening to be appointed INEC Commissioners.
This had raised so much controversy considering the fact that Lauretta Onochie is a personal assistant to the President on Media and also a member of the All Progressives Congress.
Many Nigerians believe that the positions in the Independent National Electoral Commission should be given to none partisan people.
Also reacting to this, Senator Shehu Sani who represented Kaduna Central at the 8th Assembly told President Buhari to allow other political parties to send one of their members as nominees too.
"With the nomination of Lauretta, other political parties should be allowed to send one nominee each to the Commission", Shehu Sani said.
What do you think about what Shehu Sani has said?
