It would be recalled that on Tuesday March 2, 2021, Nigeria received about 3.92 million doses of the AstraZeneca Corona Virus Vaccine.
The Presidency had earlier stipulated the scheduled mode of administering the Vaccines in the Country. According to Official sources in the Presidency, His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari and The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo would receive the Vaccines on Saturday March 6, 2021 in Abuja.
However health workers and frontline workers in the fight against coronavirus are said to be amongst the first batch of recipients of the vaccine.
On this note, the first health worker known as Dr. Cyprian Nyong have been recognized as the first health worker to have received the Covid19 vaccine. The vaccination exercise took which took place in Abuja is set to administer doses of the vaccine to all health workers in Abuja.
According to the FCT Minister Mr. Mohammed Musa Bello making the health workers the first recipients of the vaccine is done appreciation to their relentless efforts and sacrifices in containing the spread of the COVID19 virus in the Country.
He further disclosed that about 150 health workers in Abuja have been selected to receive the vaccines today.
