As part of the ways to cushion the negative effect the global pandemic has brought to the people of Bekwarra Local Government Area, the Cross River State government through the Commissioner for Health, Dr Berta Edu, the Director General, Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Janet Ekpenyong and the conscious effort of the Bekwarra Local Government Chairman, Dr Josephat Emeka has put smiles on the faces of its people as palliative distribution has commence in earnest.
The distribution cut across the 10 wards in Bekwarra, which includes people with disabilities, cyclists, drivers union, student union, NYCN, Chiefs, Clan heads, women groups, Widows, Teachers, Health workers, market women, security agencies, council staffs, political appointees, counselors, lgbo union, hausa community, Albinos , staff from tax office Bekwarra women in politics, stakeholders etc. Over 1000 bags of rice was distributed.
The event featured lots of dance steps and praises to God for supply and also thanking the government of Cross River State that remembered them especially at this point where things are hard.
Dr Josephat thanked Sir Ben Ayade and the health champions in the state for remembering the people of Bekwarra and pledged his continuous support to the administration of Ayade.
Also speaking, the wife of the chairman, Mrs Lucy Josephat charged everyone who benefited from the distributions to continue to support the leadership of Dr Emeka as they are committed to serve them and always put smiles on their faces.
