Seyi Makinde Beyond 2023: An Analysis Of What Could Happen

There is no doubt that Governor Seyi Makinde will have to face a lot of oppositions in the upcoming general election. Some members of his party (PDP) will try all within their possible best to make sure the governor doesn't return as the governor of Oyo state for the second time.

If we are to go by some of the things that are currently happening among different factions of PDP in Oyo state and the crisis rocking the umbrella party in the whole of Southwest, then Seyi Makinde might not win the Governorship election.

The first reason why the Oyo state governor might not win the ticket for his alleged reelection bid under the People's Democratic Party is the fight between him and Olopooeyan. Some who are well conversant with Oyo politics would know, Olopooeyan is a grassroot politician who knows the pros and cons of politics. The verbal war between him and Seyi Makinde could make the governor lose out from the party's primary governorship election come 2023.

Another reason why Governor Seyi Makinde might not win the primary reelection is the alleged fight that is still going on between him and Peter Ayodele Fayose. It is of utmost importance to note that Ayo Fayose is a very tactful politicians who knows his onions. Also, the former first man in Ekiti is one of the leading light of PDP in Southwest and Nigeria as a whole.

Therefore the fight between Seyi Makinde and the former governor of Ekiti State might spell the end for the Oyo state governor's political career.

The third which is perhaps the most crucial is the unhappiness of some PDP members in the state. There are alleged reports suggesting that the administration of Seyi Makinde is not taking care of some members of the People's Democratic Party.

These and many more are part of the reason why I think that Seyi Makinde could lose the next PDP primary governorship election.
