The Oyo state house of assembly, this Tuesday, swore in Mrs. Yetunde Awe as the new clerk of the house following the retirement of the first female clerk of the assembly, Ms. Felicia Oyediran.
The confirmation of Mrs. Awe as the new clerk of the assembly was also a sequel to a recommendation encoded in a correspondence forwarded to the lawmakers by the Oyo state house of assembly civil service commission.
While swearing in Mrs. Awe as the new clerk of the house, the speaker, Oyo state house of assembly, Rt. honorable Adebo Ogundoyin also pronounced Mrs. Muraina Adenike Akinola as deputy clerk.
In a chat with Noble FM's correspondent, Micheal Oladejo, the new clerk of the Oyo state house of assembly, Mrs. Oludara Yetunde Awe, explained that the legislature in Oyo state has suffered set back in the time past, and pledged to set the record straight.
She added that part of her agenda is to actualize full legislative autonomy for the state house of assembly with the support of the speaker, honorable Adebo Ogundoyin, and other principal officers of the house.
In her remarks, the outgoing clerk, Ms. Felicia Oyediran appreciated God for his protection so far, noting that not all who got employed into the state civil service 35 years ago are still alive till date.
