Nigerian Government Was Busy Auctioning Senator Ekweremadu’s Property, Failed To Assist Him – Ohanaeze Reacts To Jail Sentence.

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has berated the Nigerian government for failing to help the embattled former Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu.

Ekweremadu, was on Friday jailed in the United Kingdom for nine years and eight months for an organ trafficking plot.

Reacting to the UK court’s judgment, the spokesperson for Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Alex Ogbonnia, said the Federal Government did nothing to help Ekweremadu.

The general superintendent, Deeper Life Bible Church Worldwide, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, has charged Nigerian youths to imbibe good morals by inculcating right spiritual values to make the country a better society.

This is even as the church has concluded plans to hold a mega crusade with over 60,000 youths, and adults faithful expected to be in attendance.

Governor of Ogun, Dapo Abiodun, has directed security agencies in the state to carry out systematic raids to fish out vendors of hard and other illicit drugs operating in Sagamu and its environs.

Abiodun spoke on Saturday while receiving David Ojelabi, the new commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Ibiba Odili, his National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) counterpart, during a courtesy visit.

Three killed as cultists clash in Sagamu.

No fewer than three persons have been killed as young men suspected to be cultists overran Sagamu, the headquarters of Sagamu Local Government, Ogun State.

Daily Post Nigeria gathered that the young men, who are members of the Eiye and Aiye confraternities, relaunched their usual supremacy battle on Tuesday, shooting at one another.

As at Saturday, three persons were said to have been shot dead in the ongoing fracas that has brought commercial activities to a halt in some parts of Sagamu.
