3 reasons why every Nigerian needs to be friends with the Nigerian security operatives

The issue about Nigerian security has called for the attention of everyone. It doesn't matter the region, state or society one resides in, the most important thing is to be alert always.

In the last few months, so many people have chosen to deal with the issue by their power instead of involving higher authorities or people. This article is drafted to enlighten many Nigerians on why it is important to have a good rapport with the Nigerian security operatives.

Because it is their job to protect.

Firstly, you will agree with me that the Nigerian security operatives have no other duty than to protect Nigerians. They are paid for protecting the country and this is what they are trained to do. The way a military or a forced person will deal with issues of security will be so different from how a civilian will do it. Chose to relay any form of messages to the security forces.

They are well equipped with the necessary weapons.

Aside from the power that their uniform carries, the weapons they carry about is another reason why the citizens should trust them. In Nigeria, it is unlawful for any civilian to carry weapons (guns or any other sophisticated weapons) around. Some months back, the federal government signed a law that any man spotted with AK-47 should be treated like a hardened criminal.

Be a good informant to the police about things happening around you.

Lastly, keeping a good relationship with the security operatives will help to save our country from the hands of bandits and unknown gunmen. The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) is a platform that has been created to bring the police and the public together. The platform was created to solicit public information through the communities to crime and other violence-related actions. The security department needs information to function well and this can only be given by members of the public. Remember, "Police is your friend" and so are other forces.

May the good Lord continue to protect every of our Security Force.
