11 Aspirants yet to Know the Venue of primaries – Ondo APC factional Chairman Blows Hot

Henry Olatuja, the All Progressives Congress, APC's factional Chairman in Ondo State had on Sunday accused the party of withholding the delegates list and the venue for the conduct of the primaries just less than 24 hours before the said primaries in the State.

Mr Olatuja said this in Akure, the Ondo State capital. According to him 11 out of 12 aspirants in the State is yet to receive the delegates list for the Monday's exercise.

Mr Olatuja however condemned the decision of the party to conduct indirect primaries as against the call by some State party leaders and most aspirants for a direct mode of the primaries. He stated categorically that the Ondo APC is heavily factionized.

He maintained that the decision could be a starting point for post-primary election crisis in the State. Mr Olatuja also claimed that the delegates list must have been doctored to favour Governor Akeredolu, which he explained must be the reason why the list is not yet out. He maintained that the11 aspirants on his side will not boycott the election.

Mr Olatuja said that at the moment, no information has been given concerning the exercise of the primaries. He expressed his displeasure over the situation. According to him, the Governor Yahaya Bello-led primary Election Committee is biased as they are bent on returning the incumbent Governor as the party flag bearer.

He however said that there are some lists making rounds in the State, which made it difficult to know the one that is authentic. According to him, there is the State list as well as the executive list which came from the Congress.

He maintained that the Ade Adetimehin-led executives of Ondo APC is fake and therefore illegal. He said that Adetimehin-led executives is pro-Akeredolu and therefore not qualified to produce any delegates list.
