Ayade's Fight Against Crime and Cultism Yielding Dividends
....as Over a hundred youths denounce cultism at Orimekpang, Boki LGA
Governor Ben Ayade's fight against criminality and cultism renewed with the launch of Operation Akpakwu has started yielding the desired dividends.
This new epoch of peace and unity was shown today in Boki Local Government Area as over one hundred youths denounced cultism in Orimekpang Community.
The same vigour resulted to the recent arrest of a 17 years old girl of the community secondary school in Akpabuyo.
Since establishment of Operation Akpakwu in the State; criminal activities and cultism have drastically reduced in the State.
The security outfit has on several occasions carried routine checks and enlightenment campaigns to schools in the state in the quest to curb cultism and other criminal vices.
Different confraternities in Boki denounced Cultism as according to them; they are tired of living in bondage and there is no gain in cultism.
The event which was hosted by Rev Fr Emmanuel Ukwa in the premises of the Catholic Church also had in attendance the Executive Chairman of Boki Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor John Ewa, the Councillor of Abo ward, Hon. Pius Kejuo Osang, the Clan Head of Orimekpang Clan and his Chiefs, Youths and Women Leaders, among numerous others.
In the opening remarks; the Councillor of Abo Ward, Hon Pius Kejuo Osang welcomed the Chairman and every other person who took out time to be part of the event. He also thanked God for making it possible for the youth to embrace peace and unity by denouncing cultism.
In his reaction, the Chairman of Council, Hon Pastor John Ewa, preached peace and unity which according him is paramount to the development of every society. He encouraged and advised young people to turn a new leaf and never should they return to cultism.
He added that the repented cultists should not allow any political leader lure them into such devilish acts again.
Pastor John Ewa, also promised to ensure that those that denounced cultism will be speedily reintegrated into the society through training and empowerment.
