On Saturday, Hajiya Aminatu Gumi, the wife of the deceased Sheikh Abubakar Gumi; a one-time Grand Khadi of the Northern Region of Nigeria, passed away at 44 Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna after battling a brief illness.
On Sunday, President Muhammadu Buhari extended his heartfelt condolences in a message which was duly delivered to the Gumi family through the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Mahmood Mohammed in Kaduna.
President Buhari, in the message, expressed sadness over Aminatu's demise as he brought to mind her good heart, simplicity, and warmth explaining her death as “indeed very touching’’.
Speaking to the stepchildren of whom among them was retired Gen. Abdulkadir Gumi, the president said " I'm deeply saddened to hear about the demise of your mom. My heartfelt condolences are with you in this intense hour of grief."
He also besieged God to supply the family with the needed strength and ability to endure the immense loss of the matriarch.
