For the past six years ago when the All Progressive Congress (APC) defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the year twenty fifteen presidential election, the opposition party has been looking for ways to take in order to take back the lost presidential post in the Aso Rock Villa but all efforts by the party have proven abortive.
In the year twenty nineteen presidential election, the party lost another powerful opportunity to win the election when Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi lost to President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in the year twenty fifteen. Ever since then, the party has been craving for all possible ways of reclaiming the Aso Rock Villa back.
The party has been making mistakes when it comes to the choice of candidate for elections. A party's choice of candidate determines the outcome of the election most times. If a political party goes for a wrong candidate during an electioneering process, the party is likely to lose the election if care is not properly taken.
Prince Uche Secondus as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should pay attention to some unavoidable mistakes that occured in the last presidential election. The mistakes were one of those things that made the party lose the election.
The PDP should not go for Peter Obi in any case because of the region he comes from. Based on logistics reasons, there are less people to vote for Mr Peter Obi from the Southeastern part of the country compare to a politician who is from the northern part of the country. With the outcome of the last presidential election, we can apparently see that the PDP did not perform very well in the South-East.
Peter Obi is very good and sophisticated politician but he would not be a suitable candidate for the opposition party in this delicate moment for the upcoming presidential election. The party should not repeat what happened in the last presidential election, Prince Uche Secondus should nominate another powerful politician apart from Peter Obi.
