The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, on Wednesday, raised the alarm over alleged plans by politicians to buy votes in kind and cash ahead of Saturday’s general elections.

He made the claim during an interview on Channels Television’s election programme, The 2023 Verdict.

The EFCC chairman, who confirmed that all of its officers had been deployed to monitor the polls across 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, urged citizens to report vote buying, selling, and other evidence of financial malpractices.

The news headline has generated mixed reactions among the Facebook users. Kindly read some of the reactions from Nigerians that commented below the news on Facebook:

Laws are made for the poor masses while the rich get away with the law, when they were buying vote during primaries you didn't see them to follow , someone that didn't contest election neither did he buy form was allowed by INEC and court to stand as a candidate you didn't say anything. It's right time the masses start dealing with you people self.

With all the availability of power within your capacity, why can't these money be recovered and arrest those that didn't have immunity.

All these Governors crying over old notes are after their own selfish interest not that they love the poor masses. They simply want to use it to buy votes.
