According to a post he made on his Facebook page, he spoke as it regards the current land dispute going on in different parts of the country, and some statements that was made by some northern politicians, who claimed that every Nigerian is free to own a land in any part of the country without any permission.
While speaking, the Abia State born Senator made people to know that 75% of the Nigeria land mass are located in the 19 northern states, while just 25% alone are in the 17 states of the south. So as it regards to that, how do they want to convince a southerner to leave his land for them.
Senator Abaribe has indeed said it all. It should be recalled that the governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed sometime said that all the lands in Nigeria are owned by nobody, and neither the federal nor the various state governments have the right to restrict people from going into forests.
