The labor party national chairman, Julius Abure has expressed displeasure at the way and manner in which the independent national Electoral Commission, INEC, has been treating the party and its members
Abure, while speaking on channels television said he and the party had so much confidence in the electoral body before the election but after the election, all have since disappeared into thin air
In a video currently circulating online, he could be heard lamenting about how the electoral body has refused to allow the party lawyers and technical personal access into the BIVAS despite the court order
It would be recalled that the court of appeal, on Wednesday, Ordered the labor party to access materials on the BIVAS before it will be configured but going by the statement made by the national chairman, that has not taken place
He said " In all my interviews, you can go and check, I have always had much confidence in INEC but the way and manner in which they handled the last election have destroyed the confidence completely which I have in them. The order was made that we should be given permission to inspect election materials but INEC has not given us access till now to access the materials. Our lawyers and technical people have been going to the INEC office on daily basis but they have not been allowed to access the materials"
