It was indeed a great loss because Dr Chike Akunyili is one of the most honoured doctors in the southeast. In the Southeast, the Akunyili's has a good family background and they are known for their contribution to building the nations.
For justice to be made, it will be best for the federal government to do either of these four things.
The federal government should mobilise more security forces to the state in which this dreadful being operated more. Since the bandits and unknown gunmen are operating more in the Southeast, the federal government should also look for a way to counter the enemies attack using the army and other security officers. It is no more news that Anambra gubernatorial elections is coming soon and so many people are looking forward to this. To protect the people, there is a need for the federal government to intervene and provide the state with the needed security force.
Secondly, any groups or movements that are not recognized by the government and are not registered under the law should be put on a permanent ban. People can no longer work freely in the community because of the presence of this group.
Thirdly, Joe Igbokwe implored the federal government to declare a state of emergency in the most affected states in the southeast. This is one of the best things to do, if the federal government takes over the case just like what the army and the soldiers are doing in the northern part of Nigeria, the southeast region will also be free.
And lastly, the people in the southeast should be sensitive to their environment, they should also make it a habit to inform the security operatives of any suspicious movement in or around the community.
What other thing do you think the people in the southeast should do to overcome the issue of insecurity.
