PDP Screens Guber Aspirants Monday

In the quest to make sure The People's Democratic party (PDP) produce a reliable candidate for Anambra Gubernatorial elections.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP has set up a committee to screen aspirants.

The screening, chaired by former Kogi governor Idris Wada, is to hold at 9am on Monday and Tuesday at the party’s secretariat in Abuja, according to the party’s organising secretary Austin Akubundu.

He said, “It is expected that the aspirants will exercise exemplary conduct and strict adherence to rules and regulations during the assessment that will justify the confidence reposed in them by the leadership of our Party,”

As 2023 approaches so many prominent Nigerians have started reacting towards the geopolitical zone that will produce the Presidential Candidate.


Recently, A former governorship candidate in Rivers State, Prince Tonye Princewill has claimed that politicians under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would soon join the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC).

Princewill, in a statement made available to Daily Post on Saturday evening, said the membership registration and revalidation exercise currently going on across the country, aims at strengthening the party towards achieving its goal during the 2023 general.

Speaking to The Nation, Chris Ngige stated that it was President Buhari’s right to seek medical treatment in London.

He added that overseas treatment is part of the perks of office of a sitting President, former presidents and some judges in the country.


Amaechi Berates CCECC Over Slow Pace Of Work On Lagos-IBadan Rail Line

The Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari through The minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, has expressed dissatisfaction with "CCECC" for the slow pace of work on the Lagos to Ibadan railline.

Amaechi, who spoke on the sideline of the inspection tour of the project, said, “I am sick and tired of "CCECC" and that is why I asked them to see us on Wednesday. Although most of the things remaining are minor and it cannot delay the movement of goods. They have promised to finish by the end of the month. I believed them but I want them to reiterate that.”
