3 Important Things That Happened When Turkish President, Erdogan Visited President Buhari In Abuja

It is no longer news that President Muhammadu Buhari received the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Abuja.

The Turkish President was accompanied by his wife, the First Lady, Emine Erdogan. This was the second visit of President Erdogan to Nigeria since President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office as Nigeria's President.

During the visits, the two Presidents discussed on some bilateral issues which will be beneficial to the two countries and also strengthen the cordial relationship between them.

3 things that happened when President Erdogan visited President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja :

1. Eight major agreements and memorandum of understanding (MoUs) were signed. The MoUs were signed on a number of key sectors of the economy including Energy, Defense, Mining, and Hydrocarbons.

It is quite hopeful that Nigerians will feel the positive outcome of the meeting between the two Presidents in the long run.

2. Turkey was removed from Nigeria's Travel Ban List :

During the meeting between the two leaders, they reviewed the travel ban list based on the revised COVID-19 protocols. What this means is that Nigerians can now visit Turkey for business or other engagements as the country has achieved remarkable success in addressing the coronavirus pandemic.

3. The Turkish President also commissioned the Turkish Cultural Centre as well as the opening of the newly renovated Government Secondary School which was built by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency.

I strongly believe that the agreement reached by the two leaders will bring about positive change to the economy.
