As the Governor of Kogi state
It was in 2011, after listening to the persistent indulgence of some political scholars who have the controlling share of the nations politics and who are very influential in determining winners of elections in Kogi state, that Capt. Idris Wada, convened a coalition of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and opposition liberals to win the governorship primaries in 2011 with high fraction of the vote. Wada then moved towards the political center to wage his general election campaign which attracted a handful of Kogites who stood by him to see that his ambition saw the debut of the dawn.
Though every leadership is usually faved with a specific problem therefore, Wada's is not any different, only that majority of Kogi state workers till today believed that they had a better time during the reign of His Excellency Idris Ichalla Wada.
However, time flew swiftly and Wada completed a term of four years in the office and was working towards a reelection, when the piercing force of APC shoved over that of PDP in 2015, thereby giving his opponent, Late Audu Abubakar the opportunity to smother his forces.
However, shortly after the election was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission as inconclusive, Audu Abubakar was announce dead, this development gave Yahaya Bello a runner up at the APC primary election the chance to inherit the votes of the deceased with which he defeated Idris Wada in the conclusive part of the 2015 election.
